Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival 2025

In 2025, we celebrated the 38th year of KJBF. Each March, this festival brings the town of Kiama to life, with hundreds of attendees flocking to the streets to see the best and funkiest Jazz & the smoothest Blues from local and international artists.

Since 2022, we’ve been working with Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival to help guide their overall strategy, along with creating branding, design and social media management—analying insights and reporting.

We worked on merch, programs, social rollout, poster, wristband and poster designs, with the aim of ticket sales and clear communication for the event.

We were glad to collaborate with artist Tobias Lansdown, and photographers Chris Frape and Jon Harris to coordinate visual design, and organise images to release to individual artists.

Kiama Jazz and Blues remains an incredible client for us here at Wanderer the Studio–working with Becky Guggisberg is a delight, and we love to see the Kiama community come alive together each year.

Social Media Management

We work on KJBF’s social media presence and management. As KJBF is run slightly different to other music festivals, we had to be very thorough with their digital communications to ensure everything was clear and consistent. By using striking visuals and the festival’s branding, which gets a facelift each year, we are able to keep the feed looking schmick.

Graphic Design

As you’re probably already aware, we love making anything for print. We were honoured to be in charge of this year’s program, posters, wristband and the beer can design.

The brief was to create something functional, fun, and easy to understand, so using assets from the art by local artist Tobias Lansdown, we created posters of all sizes for different purposes.

Making the festival program was a super fun process! This 28 page document was designed to effectively communicate everything a festival-goer would need to know.

It was awesome being at the festival, walking around and spotting the posters up on the walls, and seeing people flipping through the program and wearing our wristband design.

The festival boasts an exciting collection of merchandise yearly. Our merch designs were a hit this year, with many people spotted around town in the bright shirts, and the stubby holders were selling like hotcakes. We used the artist assets to create the shirt’s design, and played with the file’s threshold to turn it into a two-tone image, ready for printing.

Client Testimonial

Becky Guggisberg, KJBF Director

“The Kiama Jazz & Blues Festival (KJBF)  have worked with Wanderer for three years now, and they’ve consistently delivered thoughtful, creative work that truly understands the spirit of our grassroots festival.

They know how to spotlight our artists and venues in ways that resonate with our audience, and they’re always open, responsive, and collaborative.

Their design work is sharp, their ideas fresh, and they bring a great sense of care to everything they do. Best of all, they’re genuinely good humans—and that makes all the difference.”
